I just imported my first blog site (Vox), into Digital Capture as the Vox site is shutting down. Although the posts of the Vox site don’t have much to do with photography, I didn’t want to lose all the content that i had posted. Another form of digital capture i guess…

Made From a Run-Of-The-Mill Scanner and an Ancient Lens by a Japanese guy (spyuge).

“Spyuge, the amateur photographer responsible for this DIY gem, says that he took a 1200 dpi Epson GT-S620 scanner, and an old Canon FD 50mm lens, fusing the two together to produce this. He said he chose that particular scanner because it has a CCD sensor, uses a camera-like lens of its own and uses LED lighting. In some of the shots, there’s obviously noticeable noise even at 800 or 1024 res, but all things considered, these photos are more than respectable.” – gizmodo

I’m a big fan on chase’s work and try to keep up with his blog. Here are 22 things a photographer should do according to chase jarvis:

1. Shoot personal work. Call in some favors, get creative with no budget, and shoot something for yourself.

2. Set free that idea you’ve been holding onto. Write a blog post about it. Ask your friends what they think. Tell the world.

3. Learn about video. Don’t have a camera? Buy drip coffee for a month instead of lattes, and buy a Flip Mino video camera with the money you save. Experiment.

4. Connect with your peers. Start a blog, dig into your Facebook. Or, hell, gather your photo friends for beers and a slide show.

Tehran, Iran

I just recently got back from Tehran, Iran. I was able to capture a couple portfolio worthy shots in between visiting family and taking in all my surroundings. The city surprised me in many ways (good and bad) and really opened up my eyes to a culture I thought I knew well. Here are a couple of the shots that I like. Still sorting and editing through a few more.
